What the audit checks
The AI visibility audit checks a page for the things that decide whether AI assistants can find, read and understand it: crawler access in robots.txt, how the server answers AI crawlers, whether the page asks not to be indexed, how much text is readable without JavaScript, the page title, description and main heading, structured data, a sitemap, HTTPS, speed and an llms.txt file. It gives a score out of 100 and a list of fixes, most important first.
JavaScript and AI crawlers
Several AI crawlers do not run JavaScript, according to a 2024 study by Vercel and MERJ. A page that only shows its text after JavaScript runs can look almost empty to them. Structured data (schema.org markup) tells machines plainly what a business is, where it is and what it sells. llms.txt is a proposed file that summarises a site for AI. The major assistants have not said they use it, so it is optional and scores little.
From readable to recommended
